Export sales increased by 78.4% to 672,415 pieces in the week to June 20 from 376,852 pieces in the prior week, and shipments rose by 10.2% to 550,939 pieces from 499,705 pieces in the same comparison.
Total export sales for the 2024 marketing year were 13,381,405 pieces on June 20 — almost all cured hides. The average year-to-date weekly trend for federally inspected slaughter was 598,793 pieces. Export sales averaged 535,256 pieces, and export shipments averaged 514,029 pieces.
