International animal fats and oils, September 19, 2024

Biofuels producers were holding back from active booking of volumes in the week to Thursday September 19, so demand for animal fats remained soft in Europe, with prices slipping further.

But some trades were still reported during the week, at prices down by €5-15 ($6-17) per tonne from the latest reported trades.

Prices for category 3 mixed fat cargoes with max 15% free fatty acids (FFA) were quoted at €780-790 ($868-879) per tonne DDP North-West Europe (NWE), while market sources reported 5% FFA fats trading in the range of €840-860 per tonne DDP NWE.

Prices for edible tallow and lard with 1-2% FFA were broadly stable, and quoted at €940-950 per tonne DDP NWE, while edible poultry fats prices softened to €970-980 per tonne on the DDP NWE basis.
