Brazilian hide demand was weak during the week to Thursday October 24, according to market participants.

The price of Brazilian wet blue TR1 hides traded at $0.58-0.60 per square foot during the week to Thursday, a seller told Fastmarkets.

Sellers in the European hide market attempted to increase prices during October 8-22 but failed to find traction, according to sources. General market activity was low, and the number of closed trades was below seasonal average. Hides were sold at flat-to-last-traded prices in most cases.
