US steer hide prices slightly increase; cow hides steady

Trading in the US hide market was slow on Tuesday December 10. Market participants reported a single trade on regular-weight butt branded steer (BBS) hides, up by $0.25 to $26.50 per piece. Other sources said that bids for heavy native steers (HNS) from China appear to be very low, while bids for cows was steady.
