Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson sits on the other side of the debate, to the relief of hemp operators. Whether Johnson was responsible for the bill’s demise this week is up for debate. Pritzker said the bill was set to fail anyway, illustrating the momentum that hemp markets have developed.
