It was an abnormally subdued week for the US hide market with the largest Asia markets in holiday mode. It is anticipated that next week will be similarly slow for the China market although Korean other Pacific Rim tanners should be more active. Most of the US suppliers indicated scant business during the week, but remain optimistic about sold positions, largely due to good January sales. Prices for the most part were unchanged.
