The US hide market activity picked up a notch today with a limited amount of trading at steady-to-slightly lower levels. Suppliers reported a small amount of overnight activity, but bids continue to be a dollar or so below prior levels. Tanners, meanwhile, continue to say there isn’t enough leather business and with the sandal season fast approaching, believe the market will likely be softer after the Hong Kong leather fair.
