It was a tough week for US hide producers with a backlog of inventory, big kills and not enough demand to keep prices from falling. Prices traded $1 to $2 two dollars lower with big packer HTS selling from $60 to $57 FOB plant, HNS from $67 to $65 and BBS from $62 to $63.50 and the Jacobsen Hide Index closed the week down $1.46 from Friday a week ago, at $57.22.
