US hide prices have been stable for several weeks now, although the volume of sales may have tapered off last week. We will have to wait until Thursday to get a tally but activity was noticeably less last week according to several suppliers. Sources also indicated buyers still need hides; however, price is a huge factor and tanners were either unable or unwilling to pay any more money, leaving some business on the table.
