The US hide market continued under pressure this week with prices falling $1 or $2 per hide and an exceptional rare holdout for steady. A number of people in the trade report the hide market this week did not seem to be very energetic with business slower than normal. There also was a lot of feedback from tanners that leather sales were down and many tanners seem to lack confidence to buy hides—even if they like the price.
