Raw hide prices continue a downward trend with further downward adjustments expected in the coming weeks. Wet salted hides are trading at US$1.50 to $1.70 per kg.

Slaughter is stable and at good levels for the time of year. In January, the monthly bovine slaughter in quantity of heads was 1,048,000. This figure was 3% less than in January 2014 and unchanged from December.
