US weekly ethanol production drops; stocks reach 7-month high

US weekly average ethanol production fell to 1.102 million barrels per day in the week to Friday January 3, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) report released on Wednesday January 8. This marked a decrease of 9,000 bpd from the previous week, but it was up by 3.8% year on year.

Ethanol stocks hit a seven-month high of 24.148 million barrels, up by 509,000 barrels week on week, but down by 0.9% year on year.
