D4 Biomass-Based Diesel Blending Generated 36% of the January RIN Total

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported 1.63 billion gallons of renewable fuel blended within the nation’s transportation fuel pool during January, a new monthly high for January. Blending was 12 percent below December 2023but five percent above January 2023. Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) credit generation fell 13 percent to 1.9 billion RINs. This was eight percent above January 2023. Domestic renewable fuel production accounted for 94 percent of total RIN generation and 95 percent of the fuel consumed.
