Ruminant meat and bonemeal witnessed end-of-the-week pressure in the Mo. River market with a low of $170/ST reported, but in limited quantity. California has remained generally flat for several weeks, however, a new low of $335/ST was reported. Most contacts communicated a steady call and a quiet market for the close of the week on the rest of the market.
Persistent reports of limited containers and shortages on trucks this week led to volatile, wide ranging markets. Heightened amounts of distressed loads were reported this week for meat and bonemeal and bloodmeal as several participants stated the unavailability of trucks and export containers as the reason. The weekly average on the ruminant bloodmeal continued to drop this week, down by 11.3 percent or $100.5/ST while porcine bloodmeal declined for the 7th week in a row, it was down $75.50/ST or 8.3 percent.
