The corn harvest is slower than many had anticipated it would be in this week’s crop progress report. However, this year’s pace is ahead of last season’s and on par with the historical average. The harvest is 15 percent complete, up seven points from last week and a point shy of the historical norm for this time of year. This year’s corn crop is 75 percent mature, which is 10 points ahead of the historical average and 36 points over last season’s pace.
