Hemp’s Potential as a Crop Alternative

The role than hemp can play in mitigating the effects of climate change goes well beyond a cameo in broader carbon trading markets.  We continue to believe that lifecycle assessments for new products made from hemp will arm principals with a compelling argument for the need for both private investment and government funding.   The material itself can replace a wide range of fossil fuel-based products used in manufacturing, including biocomposites, carbon black, and renewable fuels. 

The scope of the climate crisis begs for drastic action, and government policy has the unique ability to make momentous changes in a short period of time.  As mentioned in yesterday’s Hemp Bulletin, COVID has demonstrated government’s ability to act boldly and swiftly, and also a willingness to devote considerable funding to solve an existential threat.
