Organic Flower Prices Lack Expected Premiums

Certified organic flower has yet to achieve the pricing premiums typical for other crops.  There are exceptions to this and we’re aware of some transactions much higher than what we report, but they do not characterize the greater market.  We do not currently report indoor flower pricing, but our current hemp flower pricing serves as a benchmark from which premiums can accrue. 

Quality characteristics like color, density, structure, and terpene content/profile remain as the most significant traits in hemp flower markets.  This is true for all cannabis flower markets, regardless of THC content, even though organic markets have started to gain some traction.  We expect 20-40% premiums for certified organic cannabis flower, particularly as plant breeding improves agronomic traits of cannabis.
