Western Canada is the leading North American hemp producing region.  As Canadian operators become more reliant on entrenched hemp trade flows, government efforts will increasingly support growth in the sector.  Hemp is a win politically.  Boosting on-farm income is already win, but industrial hemp offers other advantages to producers.
