Soybean Meal Price in Central Illinois Reaches 3-Month High

Sources have reported light trades on DDGS today, a rise for the price range in Minnesota/Dakotas and a slight increase in Iowa. Participants have noted that the market has been moving higher primarily due to the continuous increase in export demand and meal exports.

CME grain prices shifted higher across the board on Monday. December soymeal surged by $19.70 and closed at $469.10/st. January soybeans increased by $0.35 and settled at $13.82/bu. Furthermore, December corn rose by $0.1325, reaching $4.77/bu, and December wheat increased by $0.0375 to $5.79/bu. The recent hot and dry forecasts in South America have led to a significant rise in grain prices. Soybean prices have experienced a double-digit increase, largely due to strong demand from the U.S., while wheat prices rose due to support from the substantial gains in both corn and soybeans.
