Meat and Bonemeal Values Continue to Fall

Meat and Bonemeal Values Continue to Fall

Ruminant and porcine meat and bonemeal continue trade under negative pressure from an overabundance of offerings in the market. The continued challenges on export paired with increased pork slaughter for the fall/winter season and diminished pet food interest has led to the excess inventories. A low of $295/st was reported on porcine meat and bonemeal, Eastern IA/IL in sizeable volume. Other participants in the Eastern IA/IL and Mo. River ranged from $325-350/st. Lower values and pushback have been reported from some in the market while others indicated expanded interest from the prior week.
