Low-End Footwear Tanners Increase Demand for South American Leathers

The week started off with minimal hide trading the in US market. Several sellers reported most of their price negotiations had been settled before the weekend.

Sellers continue to struggle with shipping issues tied the extreme weather over the last two weeks. There was a report of a seller that was delayed in shifting inventory due to a steamship’s lack of equipment and delay in shipping. Trucks have been a big issue for many as well and the lack of movement, as well as poor demand for branded selections is leading to increased inventories at some locations.
