Report Highlights Research Goals for Hemp

The Office of the Chief Scientist at USDA released a 19-page report last week, titled

. The report generally highlights the opportunities for hemp innovations that will drive the crop’s expansion. It emphasizes the importance of industry leveraging partnerships with Land Grant Universities and agencies like USDA to advance critical hemp research.

The Global Hemp Innovation Center at Oregon State University and the USDA co-hosted a workshop in 2022, National Hemp Industry Research Needs, to get stakeholder input. Four areas of need became immediately apparent:
