The market is similar to last week with low slaugher numbers. Beef exports to Europe and domestic consumption are very low, whereas beef exports to China continues have been done at higher levels. 

Fresh raw hides remain at zero price.

Tanneries are hardly operating.

The Buenos Aires wet salted heavy steers are being sold at about US$0.07 per kg, which do not even pay the cost of the salting.

April 16

Tanneries continue receiving fresh hides at zero price. Only freight, commissions and payment terms are being negotiated. Some believe that shortly, frigorificos will have to pay the tanneries for sending them cows and bull hides.
