Today’s Market

Today, trades have picked up with a mix of increased and decreased quotes. Light, regular and jumbo weighted Heavy Native Steers have been refreshed, trading at $36, $34 and $39 respectively. Heavy Native Dairy Steers have jumped $2 to $32. Butt Branded Steers were quoted at $30 for the lights and $31 for the regulars. Northern Branded Cows fell $1 to $9. Branded Steers are reportedly attractive due to a more active footwear market. Chinese customers continue to be the main buyers, whereas Italy and Korea are still slow. There was a large volume of bids today from a variety of demand sectors.
