Leveling the Playing Field

The regulatory, policy, or administrative challenges faced by hemp operators is not limited to the cannabinoid segment.  The impacts of the prohibition of cannabis and the resulting strict THC limits for industrial hemp is the most prominent challenge for hemp, but others lurk beneath the surface of developing markets. 

Because of the federal prohibition, historical hemp markets were artificially frozen in time, and are no longer relevant to our economy. It’s easy to overlook the many years, transactions, and policy movements that existing commodity markets have benefitted from.  Ongoing lobbying efforts have advanced existing agricultural commodity markets over decades.  It may take a decade or more to level the playing field for hemp.
