Chinese Organic Soybean Meal Trades at a Discount to Domestic and Indian OSBM

 

Organic soybean meal prices are steady. Most of the organic soybean meal currently offered on the West coast is Chinese organic soybean meal. There are offers on the east coast of U.S. domestic organic soybean meal near $1,450. There are still some offers of Indian Organic soybean meal on the east coast near $1,450.

Organic soybean meal is quoted near $1,300 per short ton on the West coast. According to the Bills of Ladings data that Fastmarkets/The Jacobsen evaluated, approximately 20K metric tons of organic soybean meal entered the United States in September. This number seems very large.

In September, the volume of organic soybean meal that entered the United States from China was the most significant monthly volume coming from China on record. While this number is an estimate and cannot be confirmed until the U.S. Customs Department releases its trade data in November, if accurate, it could prelude what consumers expect during the current marketing…
