Strong Consumer Demand Brought High Clothing Sales For Start of New Year

Mid-week hide bidding was limited, which is unusual for the US market. Several sellers and buyers expressed their concern with the uncertainty the war brings to consumer demand, additional logistical expenses and supply shortages. A big US packer reported carry-over business from the weekend at steady prices with interest mainly from China, but also Thailand, Taiwan, Japan and Europe. According to several sellers, Korean tanners were fairly quiet last week and this has continued into this week.
