Home Starts and Furniture Sales Fall: FRED

The hide market had a quiet tone today. Northern branded cows traded $1 less then yesterday’s price levels. Sources reported that the market continues to be mixed. Suppliers reported that they continue to see an overall, decent demand from several destinations. Transportation continues to be a challenge, and the continuing war in Ukraine and increased COVID restrictions in China have exacerbated this issue for many in the hide industry. Sources have commented that there hasn’t been an increase in orders from most, but upholstery business continues to be more active and the footwear industry it remains quiet.
