Light-Weight Heavy Native Steers Trade Up $1.50

Hide trading was active after Friday’s close bringing light-weight heavy native steers (HNS) up $1.50. Auto tanners were active in the market last week after Original Manufacturers Equipment (OEMs) increased their leather needs giving tanners the go ahead to make new purchases.
Packers and seller compile their offer lists today and tomorrow. They expect to have limited availability on steer hides due to well sold positions but good volume of cow and wet blue hides available.
