Bidding activity for US hides was active today. Multiple sellers reported an influx of bids from several leather sectors, including footwear. Sellers speculate that tanners have leather orders in hand and have worked through most inventory.
Automotive tanners are beginning to plan for December buys and expect volumes to be fairly consistent with the small volumes, similar to where they’ve been. Most are buying at an as-needed basis.
