DCO Production Second Highest Week for 2023

DCO Production Second Highest Week for 2023

A negative tone continued in the animal fats market today and there was trading done at lower levels. Choice white grease traded as low as 36.5 cts/lb FOB Mo. River, which pressured the neighboring yellow grease markets lower. Sources commented that demand from the poultry feed sector has fallen off due to HPAI cases slowing demand.
Renderer grade bleachable fancy tallow (BFT) was unquoted today due to a lack of activity. Offers were indicated at 49 cts/lb and 48 cts/lb Chicago but were not confirmed to the industry as a whole.
Distiller’s corn oil (DCO) traded lower today as well and bids for both December and January were reported below 50 cts/lb, as low as 47 cts/lb FOB Mo. River for December. Trading was rumored as low as 49 cts/lb, but this could not be confirmed as of press time. There was good volume done at 50 cts/lb FOB with trading also done 51.75 – 52 cts/lb FOB today.
