Argentine beef exports down 8% in March; tannery hide inventories high

Frigorificos steer green hides traded $0.01 per kg higher than the week before, while United Kingdom ox and heifer hides lost traction. Meanwhile, high operating costs and a lack of leather orders led Chinese tanners to lower bids prices on US hides.

According to one source, Argentina exported 77,000 tons of beef in March, down by 8% from February, but up by 14% year on year.
